LOCAL EVENTS

On Sunday 11 October, starting at 10.30am, local running club Oxted Runners will be holding a charity 10K trail race on Limpsfield Common and the High Chart. It's in aid of the East Surrey branch of the Alzheimer's Society, which has recently suffered a cut in its funding from the NHS.

The 10 kilometre (6.2 mile) race will start and finish on the public bridleway near Limpsfield Chart Golf Club, and the course will follow a series of paths and bridleways across the Common and Chart. The HQ will be at Limpsfield C.E. Infant School, whose Parents' Association will be selling refreshments after the race.

If you wish to take part, an entry form can be downloaded from the race website, http://www.oxtedrunners.org.uk/10k. The website also has a map of the course and lots of other information about the race.

If you regularly walk or ride on Limpsfield Common and the High Chart, you may wish to be aware of the event, which will be signed and marshalled.
